Land Acknowledgement

Here is a formal recognition of the original stewards of the land and their connection to it. We recognize the original stewards of the land to express honor and respect through a willingness to heal. We recognize the unique and enduring relationship that exists between Indigenous People and their traditional territories. As residents of Prince George’s County, we would like to acknowledge that we gather on the traditional lands of the Mattapanient, the Patuxent, the Piscataway, the Moyaone and the Pamunkey. We honor the past and present, and with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
